Fatherhood Talk

TBA  at Ujima House 

Fatherhood Talk is a weekly discussion group designed to bring young and potential fathers together with peers and mentors from the community. Each session will take place in the Barber’s Corner of Ujima House and focus on engaging and empowering dialogue where the meaning of manhood, fathering and best practices can be shared. Conversation topics include Education, Employment, Involved Parenting, Politics, Sex, Music, Culture, Media and many more. A limit of 10 haircuts per session, participants must be in attendance to sign up for haircuts.

Still I Rise

TBA  at the YUBSA office at the York Students Centre 

• Still I Rise creates a safe space to foster a support group where black men or those that identify as black males can discuss their issues as well as issues that impact the black community as a whole. The main purpose of the group is to redefine the image of black masculinity from the negative image portrayed through the media to a responsible healthy image that encourages family, involved fathers, young professionals and positive role models young youth can look up to.
